My name is Kimberly Townsend and I am a graduate student at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. My capstone research is in the public health field; specifically I am conducting research regarding noise-induced hearing loss in the Philadelphia School District. I have a few questions that would be helpful with my research if you would be willing to answer any or all of them. Please let me know if you are able to share this information with me.
(1) Are annual hearing tests done at the school?
(2) What is the environment of the hearing test? What equipment is used and is background noise controlled for during the test?
(3) Are the ears of the children checked prior to the test for wax?
(4) What frequencies are tested?
(5) What directions are given to students and their families if they perform poorly on the test.

Thank you,
Kimberly Townsend
