Dear Principal Eberle,
As Principal of Williajm L. Sayre High Schools I can appreciate the many challenges you are faced with. One of these challenges being the future careers of high school graduates who don’t know what to do after graduation. I too am concerned and have written a book that addresses this subject. The book title is, A Marine From Renault by Andrew J. Rickert; ISBN: 978-1-4808-4401-8 (SC) for paper copies, and ISBN: 978-1-4808-4402-5 (e) for electronic copies.
The objective of this book is to encourage high school graduates who don’t know what to do after graduation to look at the options offered by the military. I recognize the difficulty in accepting this option due to potential combat. The military also recognizes this in dealing with potential recruits. Also, since the discontinuance of the draft there has been a decline in the number of family members with military experience. Therefore, I address this subject by providing a detail accounting of my 3 year enlistment in the Marine Corps and a summary of my career after leaving the Marine Corps. I hope that this book will help graduates overcome their fear of the military.
I am hopeful that you and the appropriate members of your staff would further review a summary of my book on www.andrewrickert.com, which is free. If you would decide to purchase the book it is $3.99 for an electronic copy, and $8.99 for a paper copy. The book can also be purchased from Amazon books by entering “A Marine from Renault by Andrew J. Rickert”. I then would recommend to students having difficulty choosing a career path obtain and read a copy. If it is considered too burdensome for the students to purchase a copy, then it may be advantageous for your libraries to obtain copies for the student’s to checkout.
If you know of other organizations that are interested in the careers of high school graduates please forward this email. Also, I would appreciate any feedback you may have on this book and your thoughts on the helpfulness to our graduates.
Sincerely,
Andrew J. Rickert
